Senior year isn’t just about the big events, it’s about the people you share those final moments of high school with and the personal details that reflect who you have become. As the first senior activity of the year, painting parking spots was the perfect opportunity to bond with friends and share a little piece of yourself. These spots often include hidden gems that only close friends might notice: handprints, signed names or even a favorite movie character with personal meaning.
Seniors Angelina Ochoa and Bianca Muñoz chose to add a special touch by including each other’s handprints on their spots. The gesture represents their four-year friendship, a small tribute to the importance of having someone by your side as you prepare to enter a new chapter of life.
“Knowing that it’s my last year of high school with them is kind of sad, but wholesome,” Angelina said. “Life continues to move on whether we like it or not, but getting the chance to spend senior year with them is one thing I look forward to.”
Similarly, Audrina Kilburn painted her spot with a record player theme and invited friends to sign their names, including ones who graduated last year. It symbolized not just their friendships but also the soundtrack of shared high school memories. “It was a moment where all of us could be together and do something meaningful before most of us went to different schools,” Audrina said. “It’s sad having to leave each other behind, especially knowing they won’t be here for my senior year like I was for theirs.”
Not everyone chose to highlight friendships, though. Aaliyah Bucknor’s The Princess and the Frog-themed parking spot featured the character Ray, a firefly who guided Princess Tiana. “Ray represents hope, faith, and the ability to find one’s way even when the path seems uncertain,” Aaliyah said.
